Thanksgiving Follow-up

Thanksgiving was wonderful. I hope you had a great day, too. The job fair was disappointing. The Community Development Law Center should contact me sometime next week. If not, I plan on contacting them. These past two weeks I haven't had work. I do have full-time work weekdays December 5-23. Praise the Lord! Good contacts with family the past few days. I'm also thankful for that. Please pray for a specific need for family reconciliation, and other needs. The doctor says I need to move, as I'm allergic to mold in the house. Allergic bronchitis. The Lord will have to engineer the move, however. I don't have the means. God bless you.

Bits & Pieces

I'm looking for temporary work while waiting for a word from the Community Development Law Center. Revised my resume. Am planning to attend a job fair today. Had breakfast with Becky R. and a missionary friend of hers on Monday. Becky R. plans to come to my house for breakfast tomorrow. Had a good appointment with Don and Mary Beth on Wednesday (at church). Praise the Lord! Thanks for praying.

Hidden Blessing

It hit me this week as I've been "going through" that the Lord has given me a real blessing. My friend Becky R. and I were talking by phone, and she exhorted me to get wise counsel before making so many decisions on my own. I thought she was probably right, so I called College Park Church and left a message for the head of the counseling ministry. College Park has a great counseling ministry. One area they deal with is "wisdom" issues regarding practical areas of daily life. I certainly need that! I believe the Lord is leading me to College Park due to my need for leadership right now. No time like the present to get started! I also called my brother. He agreed with Becky. So, what is my hidden blessing? Becky. At a time when other "friends" are forsaking me and fleeing. Becky is pursuing me with friendship. She says it's because she doesn't look at the circumstances. She looks at character. A profound & refreshing compliment, if there ever was one! And a very Biblical mindset. And it's a sad commentary on the character of "friends" who run away in times of trouble. Other matters. My temporary job is over. Also the landlord lost his court case. Not a happy camper. Please keep praying. Thanks.

Looking Forward...

I am in the membership process at College Park Church. I hope to be a blessing there. The Community Development Law Center should be finished with my application sometime after Thanksgiving. I can hardly wait. Last weekend away from home was a blessing. Praise the Lord! Was given an opportunity to look at a free car this week. I believe the Lord is not leading me to take it. The housing issue is still a concern. Thank you for your prayers.
